The first edition of the Summer Game Fest was a resounding success. Elden Ring, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, Jurassic World Evolution 2, and the new Evil Dead game were just some of the highlights of the event. In addition, we also got some news regarding the fourth season of Call of Duty: Warzone and Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. The upcoming season won’t bring about as many changes as season 3 but there is still a lot to look forward to here.
Season 4 won’t introduce a new map to Warzone but it will change the existing one in a few significant ways. Based on the reveal trailer showcased at yesterday’s event, Verdansk will look a little worse for wear in the near future as a massive satellite is scheduled to crash into the map at the start of the new season. As a result, a bunch of buildings will be destroyed and players can also expect debris to be scattered all over the map. On the bright side, there’s a new weapon and drivable dirt bikes to look forward to in season 4.
As far as Black Ops Cold War is concerned, here the changes are a bit more substantial. Season 4 will introduce several new maps to the game along with some pretty crazy enemies for the Zombie mode. There’s also a new masked villain causing havoc everywhere and it’s going to be your job to stop him. This character is also responsible for crashing the satellite mentioned earlier, so it looks like there’s going to be even more cross-over between Warzone and Black Ops Coldwar in season 4.
As expected, there was no word of Call of Duty: Vanguard at the event and rumor has it the game won’t be featured at E3 2021 either. Instead, Activision is reportedly planning a full reveal later this summer as part of a tie-in event with Warzone. Word of the street is that Vanguard is set to officially launch in November, bringing with it a new WW2-themed map for Warzone and Black Ops Cold War when it arrives.
While you wait for Vanguard make sure to check out Warzone and Black Ops Cold War season 4, which debuts next week on June 17.
